The Vice President should be a medical device/medtech maven, bringing a proven track record of working with organizations that are bringing the latest life-saving technologies to market. This person possesses strong experience in account management and client relationship building with a focus on large organizations and multiple client contacts.
 
The Vice President will oversee a large, multi-disciplinary team with work across product lifecycle moments, corporate communications, executive positioning, thought leadership, earned media, creative and social/digital. Additionally, the Vice President will drive strategic planning and tactical execution, as well as performing fundamental tasks such as managing and coaching team members and budget oversight. This role will also closely partner with agency leadership and cross-functional teams to drive new business responses, proposals and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational performance of accounts and integrated teams, ensuring quality work, deadline, and budget adherence 
  • Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate, address client issues thoughtfully and effectively  
  • Drive planning and KPIs; manage against them 
  • Build and manage internal teams to meet client needs 
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations and social/digital media, materials development and executive/thought leadership
  • Supervise staff by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable and conducting their reviews 
  • Contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizations 
  • Drive new business opportunities including RFP responses and presentations 
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals  
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with DJE’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct 

Basic Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of full-time experience in public relations and/or related fields including advertising and marketing 
  • 5+ years of experience working in the medtech/medical device space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agency experience 
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent storytelling skills, and provide sound, level-appropriate media counsel with all level’s client contacts 
  • Possess proven management and leadership skills as well as a proven track record of success in executing fast-moving, large-scale campaigns at the strategic and tactical level 
  • Be able to manage the media budgets and team on sizable pieces of business to achieve client goals 
  • Have experience managing campaign launches, data and regulatory milestone announcements, medical publications and conference, media events, and desk-side briefings 
  • Ability to write strategic communications plans and a variety of materials with limited oversight 
  • Possess keen interest and high awareness of current events in the healthcare industry  
  • Be committed to a solutions-oriented mindset to bring best strategic counsel to our clients and internal teams
