VICE PRESIDENT, LAND DISPOSITION
 
The Lewis Group of Companies, one of the nation’s largest privately held real estate developers, seeks an experienced and educated professional for a Vice President, Land Disposition career. This position will join the Southern California land development team at the corporate office in Upland, CA.

The Lewis Planned Communities division focuses on identifying and acquiring residential land that it subsequently entitles, develops, and sells to homebuilders.  Recent activity in Southern California includes transactions in the communities of Chino, Ontario Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Rialto, and West Covina.  
 
Position Overview
 
The Vice President, Land Disposition, will work under the immediate supervision of the Senior Vice President of Southern California Planned Communities.  You will interact directly with partners, vice presidents, managers, and other staff across various Lewis business units. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Initiating and securing offers from home builders/developers
  • Negotiating transaction parameters and purchase & sale agreements
  • Financial analysis
  • Working in conjunction with the project development team to execute transactions
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of cost control, financing, and project reporting relative to each asset owned and/or operated by Lewis
  • Working in conjunction with outside and internal legal counsel
  • Supervise Department of Real Estate (DRE) processing
  • Managing profit participation agreements with homebuilders
  • Member of committee that determines product and land plans prior to entitlement by the project development team
  • Managing sales to various public agencies such as school districts, cities or other special governmental agencies
  • Other special projects related to land optimization and other non for-sale residential disposition alternatives
Qualifications for your success:
  • Proven background in land development, including:
    • Solid knowledge of property values, property appraisal techniques, property descriptions, civil engineering documents, land record analysis, legal documents involved in property transactions, eminent domain proceedings, and financial analysis.
  • 4-year college degree or greater
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Aerial mapping programs
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for company business and site visits
