American Specialty Health (ASH) is seeking a Vice President - IT Operations to join our Information Technology - Operations (ITO). This position will be responsible for driving all aspects of Information Technology engineering and cloud infrastructure, systems governance, strategic direction, oversight and growth for ASH solutions. The VP ensures that key information assets are continuously secure and well-integrated. The VP identifies appropriate technologies and manages large scale IT initiatives, produces technology-driven innovation to further facilitate strategic business objectives and establishes a world-class culture and a highly skilled team that is empowered and accountable for effectively delivering solutions. The VP is instrumental to shape the vision, provide direction, and lead in the development of strategies in technology to support and advance the strategic goals of ASH.
Salary Range
American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation
depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $175,000 to $275,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range.
Remote Worker Considerations
Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 10 Mbps upload speed).
Responsibilities
- Partners with the CTO and other ASHTech leaders to develop technology strategy, process methodology, architecture, day to day operations and platform support, long range initiatives planning, collaboration with cross-functional business leaders and partners, and management of a dynamic team providing “best in class” support.
- Lead IT Operations strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization to ensure flexible, effective systems able to adjust to reasonable future demands consistent with business plans.
- Establish IT Network Operations departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures; directs continuous improvement of the staff, equipment, and procedures to maintain pace with technological progress, economic change, and business needs.
- Responsible for all elements of the IT technology and infrastructure that delivers a consistent, reliable and optimized business and operational experience for all users as well as external providers, customers, and clients.
- Oversees the Service Desk ensuring adherence to best practices; department procedures; corporate policies; and exceeds the service level expectations of the organization.
- Partners with Enterprise Security and Software Engineering to ensure technology deployments and department procedures are in alignment with DevSecOps best practices.
- Working with ASH Security, ensures the security and integrity of information technologies; with a special focus on any system or technology that utilizes and stores Protected Health Information (PHI) or Personal Identity Information (PII). Ensures that the privacy of data is managed and secured.
- Directs testing and develops procedures for disaster recovery and network and system upgrades and changes.
- Researches new technologies and presents recommendations to leadership. Oversee the acquisition of new technology.
- Oversee the prompt and effective resolution of production / service issues and ensure that root causes are correctly identified and addressed.
- Creates and maintains the IT capital and operating budgets.
- Develops and maintains metrics performance and capacity.
- Negotiates, maintains, and complies with software license and maintenance agreements. Negotiates and maintains vendor and service agreements.
- Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets, which includes tightly managing expenditures in fidelity to the budget process and approved budgets.
- Retains and develops a successful team to support IT services; provides guidance and direction to the management team. Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of IT Operations staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
- Attends team, departmental, and staff meetings to discuss issues and foster teamwork. Participate as member of the senior team in organizational leadership activities, including strategic planning and organizational development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.
- Minimum twelve years of experience in Information Technology with at least five years in leadership, including experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Strong experience in implementing business solutions.
- Experience across a range of IT disciplines including infrastructure and data center technologies.
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing service agreement with technical partners.
- Experience in managing developing multi-million dollar department/organization operating and capital budgets and effectively planning and managing activities within the established constraints of approved budgets.
- Proficiency in MS Office including intermediate knowledge in Word and Excel.
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record. Availability of automobile for on the job use and proof of insurance.
- Experience with automation and agile methodologies, including the use of daily stand-ups sessions, bi-weekly sprint grooming sessions, and quarterly roadmap planning.
- Demonstrated experience in IT service and support for a multi-site organization. ITIL experience a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in team facilitation, collaboration, negotiations, problem solving, stakeholder management, and project management.
- Knowledge and experience in DevSecOps.
- Conveys clear and concise message appropriate to intended audience; represents American Specialty Health (ASH) in a professional manner through effective verbal and written communication; and ability to work with employees at all levels.
- On-call availability and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to manage remote teams and remote staffing models.
- Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current and evolving technologies
- and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate management on their competitive or financial impact.
