Who You Are:

As part of the Enterprise Risk & Controls team, the Vice President will be the driving force of our SOX readiness plan, including collaborating with various business units as well as identifying control gaps and thinking out of the box to develop effective solutions. This person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly.

What You’ll Do:

  • Autonomously execute on Galaxy’s SOX readiness plan, lead readiness workshops, assess corporate governance, and work with business leadership to develop controls that address emerging risks in the crypto space
  • Assist with business and technology controls integration and up-lift for new acquisitions
  • Collaborate with process and control owners in various parts of Galaxy’s businesses to evaluate the design and effectiveness of key SOX controls and risk mitigation in place or needed
  • Identify and document control gaps and deficiencies and assist owners with adequate remediation
  • Maintain documentation of Galaxy’s internal control environment and SOX program, including risk assessment, risk and controls matrix, testing approaches, execution plans, and results
  • Coordinate with external auditors to align Galaxy’s SOX documentation with that required for external audit purposes
  • Track status of the program and issues identified, and report to the Head of Enterprise Risk & Controls and the CFO

What We’re Looking For:

  • 6+ years of SOX experience, including pre-IPO and/or SOX readiness, particularly in the financial services industry
  • Deep knowledge of risk & controls, accounting, and financial reporting
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
  • Strong appetite for problem solving in a nascent industry and a high-growth business
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities and meet tight deadlines while delivering high quality work products
  • High level of proficiency with Excel and Visio
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Bonus Points: 

  • CPA, CISA
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency
  • Experience working in a Big 4 and/or public accounting firm
  • Technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting requirements

The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.

Base Salary Range
$150,000$180,000 USD
