Position Summary:

The Vice President, Enterprise Product Management, will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. This role will work in close collaboration with the R&D and Strategic Marketing teams. This position will lead and manage a dynamic product management team, responsible for recommending new products and maintaining and enhancing existing products; monitoring business and service levels of the product portfolio including all facets of the products. This includes but is not limited to partnering with R&D on development and improvements to products as an integral role in the product pipeline, as well as a close partnership with Strategic Marketing to develop product marketing messages, content, and goals. This role serves as the product experts in support of the enterprise-wide business, serving both external and internal customers. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a key and active member of the Senior Leadership Team of NeoGenomics and the Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Align with the cross-functional team in defining the product strategy and product ownership and own the product roadmap for all NeoGenomics’ product offerings.
  • Understand and actively assess the market analysis of each product: segmentation, dynamics, research and clinical trends, and regulatory landscape. Actively monitor industry trends to understand the competitive environment and anticipate precision oncology market shifts and customer demands. Use knowledge to evaluate, update and manage change for products in development and on-market.
  • Analyze and segment product markets to determine compelling value proposition, competitive positioning, most desirable and critical product attributes, and trade-offs, most appropriate pricing strategy, and go to market business models by closely working with the Business Development and Commercial teams.
  • Develop business cases for new opportunities and drive the Product Lifecycle Process (PLP) for new products.  Includes creation of strategic plans, product definitions, market segmentation, collection of voice of the customer, product requirements, market analysis, and input into the annual marketing budget and metrics that will allow assessment of adoption.
  • Drive successful product relationships with key customers to ensure an understanding of emerging trends and key drivers for successful adoption of new products and/or expansion of the value proposition of existing products.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships in support of the enterprise-wide strategy.
  • Collaboration with Commercial, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Medical Affairs, KOLs, and Business Development teams to gain regional market feedback and incorporate considerations in product portfolio decisions and go-to-market priorities.
  • Lead core team in product development projects, representing the voice of the customer, while partnering with key stakeholders to ensure the successful introduction of the product into the market.
  • Own the customer-driven process to define user workflows in different user settings and communicate this workflow to sub-teams for implementation.
  • Develop go-to-market product plans in collaboration with Commercial organizations (especially tactical marketing and training) to achieve revenue goals, ensure successful customer adoption and accelerate ramp to volume.
  • Review, understand, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • May lead and will participate in cross-functional teams or projects; shares expertise through mentoring/coaching of others.
  • Serves on other work groups or committees as asked.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer.

 

Experience, Education and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, or related scientific field; PhD degree in related fields preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive product management experience in laboratory, pharma, or life science fields; deep understanding of product management, marketing, sales and business development, and product and service management.
  • 5+ years in product management leadership positions with a proven record of leading and managing a product management organization with overall responsibility for establishing long-term strategic growth initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oncology, Diagnostics, or Medical device. Experience in oncology diagnostics is greatly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of oncology diagnostic services and the evolving competitive landscape.
  • Strong track record of success in bringing innovative products to market.
  • Previous experience with product management in global markets in both Clinical and Pharma settings.
  • Ability to build business cases with quantitative market analytics, revenue, NPV, and profitability projections.
  • Experience in strategic product planning and collaboration with executives, Sales, Medical and R&D, and key operational groups. 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with proven success and track record in delivering top-line results.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential risks and/or obstacles, and opportunities and then to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven oral, written, telephone, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs.
  • Keen ability, to and desire to anticipate, recognize and meet others’ needs to achieve common goals.
  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual.

Travel:  Ability to travel up to 40% Overnight travel will be required.
