Vice President, Commercial Operations (The Home Edit)

The VP of Commercial Operations for The Home Edit is a pivotal executive role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the commercial operations of our organizing services, brand partnership revenue streams, and retail licensing partnerships. This role involves strategic planning, operational execution, and cross-functional leadership to ensure the seamless integration and efficiency of our business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in partnership operations and a deep understanding of digital content creation, with a proven track record of driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence. The role requires a strong analytical approach to problem solving, the ability to build relationships and work with a variety of team members across multiple divisions and disciplines. You will work to scale our organizational service markets, our licensing relationships, and our strategic brand partnerships all while being a key stakeholder in the strategy, finance, and operational excellence of the brand. Requires deep experience with talent-led and/or social-first brands.

This position is preferred onsite in Nashville, TN. Relocation negotiable.

Professional Organizing Services Operational Management

  • Implement best practices in retail operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Manage pipeline for market-projects and key IP project development
  • Develop roadmap for growth through strategic partnerships in key markets
  • Work closely with Executive Team & Unscripted Team on strategic ways we are leveraging the organizing team outside of day-to-day market operations

Retail Operations & Product Licensing Oversight

  • Manage licensing partners from an executive level working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the product licensing processes, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic goals.
  • Negotiate licensing agreements and manage relationships with licensees to maximize revenue and brand exposure.
  • Monitor the performance of licensed products and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Partnership Management

  • Evaluate brand alignment, talent availability, and pricing standards across strategic brand & tv/film partnerships to enhance product offerings and market reach.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefits and alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the overarching performance of branded partnerships, implementing improvements as necessary.

Revenue Operations

  • Work with finance and accounting partners on tactical execution of the operational budget and financial forecasts, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analyses, and develop strategies to achieve financial targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth through operational improvements and new scaling ventures.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in operations management, with a strong background in the digital creator landscape, sales, licensing, and branded content production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling commercial operations in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Expertise in partnership management & negotiation across product licensing, branded partnerships, and strategic industry partnerships (i.e. real estate ventures)
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the retail and digital content creation industries. Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Experience in strategic planning, P&L exposure and budget management, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Negotiation skills and contract development expertise across licensing and partnership agreements.
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
