We are searching for a Practice Manager in South East Melbourne who wants to work in a collaborative veterinary environment, driving patient care, help our clients while supporting our dedicated and caring teams. The ideal person will be someone who can have a great time, make the workday enjoyable, and give that positive support needed to get through the day. We want someone who can match the passion of the team and jump onboard to achieve the goals of the clinics, to love and care for pets. This role is suitable for new or experienced, with loads of support to be provided by your regional manager.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading the Clinic Team in partnership with the Lead Vet and Head Nurse (if applicable) by encouraging a positive culture of accountability, empathy, and openness.

  • Proactively managing the clinical scheduling for optimal efficiency.

  • Manage recruitment in partnership with the Lead Vet, Regional Manager, Head Nurse, and recruitment team.

  • Compile fair and effective rosters in response to business needs and budgets. Issue rosters with reasonable notice, manage and approve timesheets.

  • Demonstrate balanced decision making with consideration of both clinical and commercial outcomes.

  • Manages inventory, cash balancing at end of day and stock taking processes.

  • Create and manage the implementation of uncompromising standards of care in the delivery of veterinary and nursing, medical and surgical services while fostering a focus on preventative healthcare amongst staff and patients.

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees and contractors, both psychologically and physically.

  • Drives a customer-focused culture and demonstrates and reinforces the highest level of customer service with all team members.

  • Effectively communicate and consult with clients, vets, and team members on all enquiries, including complaints, grief support, reminders, and procedure follow-ups.

  • Be self-motivated and show initiative.
