We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Electronics Engineer in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS).The Vehicle Electronics Engineer will provide high-level electrical engineering expertise in support of research, design, development, and integration of electronic systems for ground combat vehicles.
This role involves performing engineering analysis and offering technical recommendations to enhance the performance and sustainment of vehicle electronics across various stages, including testing, production, and fielding. The engineer will also support cross-functional program coordination and contribute to technical documentation, presentations, and government-led meetings to ensure successful system integration and development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate efforts on emerging or fielded systems, subsystems, and components.
- Perform engineering analysis, including electrical design reviews, risk analysis, trade-off studies, and system engineering plans.
- Conduct SWAP-C (size, weight, power, and cooling) analysis, power management, and configuration management.
- Analyze hardware and software configurations, logistic support, performance measurements, and technical reviews.
- Conduct obsolescence and sustainment reviews on electrical and electronic items.
- Develop technical reports addressing potential technology insertions and system/technology trade studies.
- Support coordination activities with internal and external offices (e.g., logistics, production, user community, ASA(ALT)) for the integration and testing of assigned weapon systems.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- A Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering from a college or university.
- A Masters degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or a combination of the following:
- Design, development, integration, test, and lifecycle management for vehicle electronics hardware.
- Experience with loosely coupled Hardware and Software architectural designs.
- Knowledgeable of network, electronics hardware, communications, environmental, and combat vehicle standards.
