Vehicle Dynamics K&C Testing Engineer

As a pivotal member of the chassis testing team at Applus+ IDIADA, the Vehicle Dynamics Test Engineer will primarily focus on the evaluation and development of suspension systems in laboratory, with a specialized emphasis on kinematics and compliance testing. Your key responsibilities will include:

Performing Technical Activities:

You will lead technical activities related to kinematics and compliance testing, ensuring the meticulous evaluation and advancement of vehicle dynamics. This encompasses:

  • Supervising Test Vehicle Instrumentation: Overseeing the meticulous installation of sensors and the configuration of data acquisition devices.
  • Executing Test Programs: Directing and overseeing test programs in accordance with project requirements.
  • Analyzing Test Data: Conducting in-depth analysis of test data, with a specialized focus on kinematics and compliance metrics, and presenting comprehensive reports to derive actionable project insights.
  • Process development and improvement: scrutinize existing testing procedures and methodologies in order to improve efficiency and quality. Propose new ideas to expand the current services in the area of chassis testing.

Support sales process:

Collaborating closely with the Vehicle Dynamics Product Manager, you will offer valuable support in drafting technical proposals and quotations, leveraging your expertise in kinematics and compliance testing to enrich project proposals.

Education

Possession of an Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or Mechatronics.

Profile

  • Demonstrated experience of 1 to 3 years in vehicle testing, with a strong preference for expertise in brakes or vehicle dynamics.
  • Experience in measurement technology and data acquisition systems. Familiarity with CAN communication equipment is an asset.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for measurement data analysis, spanning from initial post-processing to the meticulous reporting of final results. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey findings and insights.
  • Dynamic, proactive, and self-motivated attitude, coupled with a willingness to engage in global projects as required.

 

Language Skills

Full working proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in other languages, particularly German, is considered advantageous.
