THE ROLE

To provide exceptional delivery service to clients; including safely operating a company van to transport property between warehouse, retail store and/or to client’s residence; loading and unloading packages, consolidating applicable orders, following designated routes, maintaining vehicle upkeep and safety, and adhering to all traffic and liquor transportation regulations while ensuring timely deliveries.

This position is a temporary to permanent role. You would have a one-month temporary trial period during which we would further assess your driving, delivery and customer service skills. Should you succeed, you will convert to permanent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Always deliver exceptional client service.
  • Make an average of 15 deliveries a day. Deliveries may vary depending on the season.
  • Accurately deliver all orders from the van to the final delivery address, ensuring to get an adult signature and proof of delivery (POD) photo on the delivery software app.
  • Provide regular feedback to Operations Team in terms of route changes, delivery issues, delays, etc.
  • Ensure property is secured properly at all times.
  • Ensure physical security of van at all times.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work with pallet jacks and hand trucks.
  • Flexible work hours; be on call for deliveries on Saturdays or to deliver in the evenings.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Valid driver license
  • Commercial driving experience utilizing small trucks and/or vans preferred
  • 1-3 years of related driving work experience preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, proactive problem solver, attentive to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to interact with a broad variety of clients, internal and external

The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $30/hour - $35/hour. Employees in this role may be expected to work overtime, and will receive additional pay at the applicable overtime rate. In addition to hourly wages and overtime, successful candidates will be eligible for benefits as required by law. Our offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
