The team: 

The Valuations team plays a critical role in reviewing and approving valuations from across our business units and fund structures, ensuring our Valuations Committee runs effectively and competently. The team sits within the wider Risk & Compliance function of around 40 who are a very visible and central business unit that operates more commercially and collaboratively than in many other regulated organisations.  

What will you be doing? 

  • Reporting to the Head of Valuations, you’ll be working closely together to support in the day-to-day execution and ongoing enhancement of all valuations workstreams - including regular quarterly and bi-annual valuations engagements; quarterly Valuations Consistency Group proposals, quarterly bad and doubtful debt (B&DD) reviews; and ad hoc analysis as required. 

  • Lead the project management for the Valuation Committee for all funds/products including timeline planning, arranging suitable times for Valuation Committee meetings with members, room bookings and engaging with sector teams and key Valuation stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of high-quality papers to the Valuation Committee. Additionally, attending Valuation Committee meetings as observer and minute taker, with the intention to progress to a voting member as part of your career development.  

  • Prepare the macroeconomic assumptions pack quarterly for consistent use across the business for each valuation cycle, as well undertaking ad-hoc market, sector or company research. 

  • Perform ‘peer reviews’ of valuation papers from the sector teams prior to submission to the Valuation Committee where the papers are reviewed and assumptions challenged, as well as performing quarterly valuations for some legacy funds. 

Ideally, you’ll have: 

✅ ACA / ACCA qualified or CFA charter holder with 0-2 years post-qualification experience (we will welcome applications from those qualifying imminently)  

✅ A good working knowledge of Valuation techniques, gained through working in Valuations, other Deal Advisory roles or Fund Audit  

✅ An understanding of International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation Guidelines 

✅ Excellent interpersonal skills in building engaging relationships at all levels across the business, challenging senior stakeholders when needed. 

✅ A track record of excellent attention to detail
