Validation Engineer - SSD Validation

The Validation Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that our SSD products meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards through comprehensive validation testing. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, and driving the continuous improvement of our validation processes. This position is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about quality assurance in storage technology and enjoys problem-solving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Test Development and Execution

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans to validate SSD performance, functionality, and reliability across multiple product lines.
  • Develop test cases and automation scripts to ensure consistent and repeatable testing processes.
  • Perform manual and automated testing to evaluate product functionality, endurance, power consumption, and other critical SSD parameters.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, identifying potential issues and anomalies.
  • Prepare detailed validation reports to communicate test results, defects, and root causes to stakeholders.

Troubleshooting and Debugging

  • Collaborate with firmware and hardware teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during validation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and document solutions to ensure continuous improvements in product quality.

Automation and Process Improvement

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to increase testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for test setups, data collection, and validation workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware, hardware, and product teams, to ensure seamless integration and resolution of issues.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on validation requirements and potential risks.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure SSD products adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Document all test cases, results, and resolutions to maintain traceability and support certification processes.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in validation, testing, or quality assurance, preferably with storage devices or SSDs.
  • Strong understanding of storage protocols (e.g., NVMe, SATA, PCIe) and SSD technology fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or other scripting tools for test automation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating reports and documentation.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of storage industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with test management and data analysis software (e.g., JIRA).
