Your responsibilities
You are a Mechanical Technician interested in developing vacuum technology competences, in particular helium leak detection. You will be involved in leak detection of cryogenic and thermal insulation vacuum systems with emphasis on:
- Design and production of clamshell tools for leak detection in the helium transfer lines of the high-luminosity LHC project;
- Testing and validating in laboratory of these tools;
- Identification and cataloguing of these tools for forthcoming use at CERN.
In addition, you will be a member of the team in charge of the installation, commissioning, and operation of the insulation vacuum system of the new high-luminosity test bench, which comprises superconducting magnets and cryogenic high-current distribution lines.

What we offer
About us
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
Diversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization. Employing a diverse workforce is central to our success.
