About the Company: We are looking for a passionate and inquisitive User Researcher to join our team at Substrakt. In this role, you will play a crucial part in understanding our clients' users and informing our design and development processes. As a User Researcher, you will conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights, identify user needs and behaviors, and help shape our digital strategies. You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and strategists to build a deep understanding of users and ensure that our solutions effectively address their challenges. This position is ideal for someone who has experience in conducting user research, enjoys working analytically, and is excited about contributing to meaningful cultural experiences through digital platforms.

About the Role: Design and conduct user research initiatives according to a brief including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and focus groups. Analyze and synthesize research findings to generate actionable insights for the team. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their objectives and help define user-centric goals for projects. Create user personas, journey maps, and other tools to communicate research findings and user insights effectively. Maintain an awareness of industry trends and best practices in user research, and apply this knowledge to improve our methodologies. Advocate the value of user research through webinars, conferences, and articles.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct user research initiatives according to a brief including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and focus groups.

Requirements

  • Experience or hands-on experience in user research, UX design, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in various research methods including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and observations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience creating user personas and journey maps, and using them to inform design decisions.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SurveyMonkey, Maze, Optimal Workshop, Optimizely, HotJar, and Excel or similar.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Experience working in an agency or similar environment where flexibility and collaboration are key.
  • Curious and have a deep empathy for users' needs and challenges.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and can build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to improve digital experiences for users.
  • Are interested in the business of arts and culture.

This is a fully remote position, with the opportunity to attend an office in Birmingham, but you must have the right to work in the UK.
