User Researcher

At Famly, we’re looking for a Copenhagen or Berlin-based user researcher to conduct and deliver research to inform product decisions on how we reach product/market fit in one of our most important Markets - Germany. Famly is heavily focused on solving user needs for the German childcare crisis—and in doing so grow our position as the go-to childcare management solution.

We know that a deep understanding of our users and their unmet needs is critical. We are on a focused mission to help more early-years practitioners have time to focus on the children in their care.

And Famly are...? Well it all began when our co-founder Henrik’s daughter was ready to start at daycare. He couldn’t believe the amount of work being done on paper - and how distant he felt from his first child during the day. The paper ‘parent’ books they exchanged once a month just weren’t cutting it. Together with his friend, our co-founder and CEO Anders, they set about solving that.

These days, the 140 of us building Famly talk about trying to do two things for our 6,500 nurseries:

  • Giving children the best possible start to life.
  • Championing the vital work that goes into making that happen.

We do it with software that brings hundreds of thousands of parents closer to their child’s day while they’re away from them. We also make financial, pedagogical, and planning tools for more than 75,000 childcare professionals, saving them hours reducing their admin stress.

Ultimately, that gives them more time and headspace for the little ones that really matter. Come help us make that happen.


Impact as a user researcher at Famly

Today, Germany is a key market for Famly, and so understanding users’ needs is critical to the product team and the wider business. In this role, you’ll have significant impact by:

  • Partner and influence on strategic product groups and purposefully informs their product decisions.
  • Set the direction for an efficient, meaningful research process together with the entire Product Design team.
  • Own and triangulate research insights, that informs how Famly reach product/market fit for maximum impact and value.


What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and deliver research using the most relevant and effective methods for the project, timelines and business needs at play.
  • Work closely with product designers, product managers, and extended cross-functional teams to build and successfully maintain relationships.
  • Help improve Famly’s user research capabilities, drive the research process, become a trusted “voice of the German customer”. and build out a deep and insightful research repository to inform strategy and design
  • Inform, collaborate, and present actionable insights to Product & Engineering teams and leaders, across the organisation, and be able to distill the message for various audiences.
  • Drive your own research projects as well as support product teams by recruiting users for research and scheduling sessions
