Fluidra’s looking for a Unitizing Operator to join our team at our S.R. Smith facility in Portland, TN. 
  
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE  
The primary purpose of this position is to perform operations as a Unitizer in the Rail Department to prepare products for shipment. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -  
  • Follows all safety rules and policies to include wearing appropriate PPE for job being performed; Understands accountability for unsafe behaviors and acts; Reports all unsafe conditions to department supervisor immediately.
  • Works from schedule and verbal instructions provided by department supervisor (scheduled activities may be changed periodically during the shift depending on component need)
  • Unitizer-(Grinder/ Buffer) removes all cosmetic defects.
  • Makes adjustments to equipment as required.
  • Inspects, wraps, and packs custom rails.
  • Drills ladders for ladder department.
  • Operates bending machine when instructed.
  • Operates scanning equipment to track raw and component inventories.
  • Performs cycle counts as requested by department supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
 
WHAT WE SEEK 
 
  • 1 to 3 years of verifiable manufacturing experience in a similar industry.
  • Operates a variety of power equipment such as drilling machines, grinders, sanders, buffing wheels etc.
  • Operates scanning equipment to track movement of inventory of raw and component materials.
  • Notifies department supervisor about any maintenance needs for equipment.
  • Must be LOTO certified and therefore perform machine specific LOTO during changeovers and maintenance.
 
 
EDUCATION 
 
  • High school or GED preferred but not mandatory.
