Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top-notch individuals to help serve our customers as a Construction Foreman. Wage ranges from $20-$30 per hour depending on experience.
As a Foreman, you will:
- Identify existing and predictable hazards to work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.
- Work may include commercial caulking, window glazing, waterproofing, wall and floor coatings, structural concrete repairs, and masonry restoration.
- Assists the various craftsmen in the performance of their work within a particular construction work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the craft.·
- Supervises workers assigned to area of responsibility to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications and meets quality standards.
- Acts as the competent person on the job by identifying existing and predicable hazards which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees and halting any operation or removes employees from environments that may be dangerous.
- Supervise workers assigned to the area of responsibility to ensure that work complies with specifications and meets quality standards.
- Communicate effectively to supervise employees and maintain customer relations.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
- May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials during installation.
- Oversee and maintain company safety requirements and ensure that they are known and understood by all workers.
- Other tasks as required based on business need.
Requirements
- Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
- The ability to read drawings is necessary.
- Physically, workers must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see (naturally or with correction).
- The ability to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear company safety equipment is essential.
- Experience with crew leadership and professional communication with customers.
- Must communicate effectively in order to supervise employees and maintain customer relations.
- Must have reliable transportation and pass a drug screening
