The Underwriting Services Assistant II is part of a team that provides policy issuance support to the Underwriting Department by utilizing the policy administration systems to execute policy transactions within prescribed quality standards and service level requirements. The Underwriting Services Assistant II works closely with the underwriters and account analysts to ensure that file documentation and issuance instructions are complete and that policies are issued accurately and within the authority of the Underwriter. The Underwriting Services Assistant II will respond to any transaction errors related to the accuracy and compliance of the policy and ensure that any necessary corrections are validated and completed. The Underwriting Services Assistant II may assist with special projects as assigned.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. **Reviews and enters required information into underwriting and policy administration systems to complete policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations and renewals within company and state standards and prescribed timeframes.
2. **Ensures that all transactions are issued within company and state standards and regulations and communicates discrepancies to the Underwriting team.
3. **Processes policy changes within established processing guidelines.
4. **Coordinates with members of Premium Audit and Premium Accounting to complete policy revisions and corrections.
5. **Responds to transaction errors and ensures that corrections are validated and completed.
6. **Identifies system defects and communicates these items to the Supervisor and/or Business Analyst.
7. Assists with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. One year of insurance and/or underwriting experience preferred.
2. Ability to analyze information and problem solve required.
3. Ability to type with speed and accuracy and strong attention to detail required.
4. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines required.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
6. Experience in AS400, DXC POINT IN J and Microsoft Dynamic CRM preferred.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products preferred.
