About the role
We are looking for a strong, ambitious commercial leader with an exceptional track record to join the fastest growing part of Carwow, our Sell My Car team.
Carwow launched this new service in 2021 - for the first time customers looking to change their cars could list their existing cars on our site and dealers would bid for them ensuring they got the best possible price for their vehicles. Since then we have driven phenomenal year on year growth (+83% in FY2023) while also improving profitability to the point where Sell My Car is now our biggest revenue line globally even though we are still only operating it in the UK. To do that, we have continually evolved the consumer and dealer proposition and built a cohort of engaged buyers on the platform.
Unlike traditional industry stock sourcing solutions, like trade auctions, our stock sourcing tool allows dealers to buy cars directly from owners who list them on our site. We’re very much the newest entrant and disruptor in this space and our partners tell us that in a world where used cars are increasingly hard to get hold of, they love the opportunity to access stock they might not get through part exchange. But buying cars in this way, from platforms like us, is relatively new to the industry and so they also tell us that they value our close and collaborative working relationship that helps them (and us) to work through the challenge of operating differently. Our ethos of working closely to support our partners is evident through our regular dealer councils and the constant high quality conversations that are a core part of this role.
What you’ll be doing
You'll shape the future. Your primary responsibility is translating revenue aspirations into a growth strategy, guiding your team to execute plans that redefine industry norms. Engaging directly with large-scale dealerships, you'll foster partnerships that drive our industry's evolution.
Over the past year we’ve hired a crack commercial team with huge industry credibility and we’ve focused on scaling our partner network (now +66% year on year). You will be joining a highly motivated, committed group who enjoy spending time together as much as they do with our industry partners.
In this role you will drive and lead every aspect of the acquisition, activation and long term engagement of car buyers on the carwow Sell My Car platform. You’ll have the opportunity to build out this new function by bringing together teams from around the business with new hires, developing the long term strategy for partner engagement, proposition and pricing and designing and implementing ways of working.
