Geomagical Labs is creating 3D spatial computing experiences for millions of users around the world, in partnership with IKEA. Our pioneering 3D apps allow customers to scan photorealistic models of their spaces, then re-imagine their spaces in lifelike 3D, from anywhere, changing home commerce along the way.
About the role
We have an opening for an experienced software engineer to architect and implement web-based mixed-reality software. This role is part of the Graphics team, where you will develop high-performance architecture, APIs, and features interfacing between the user, the 3D graphics engines, and our microservices cloud platform.
In this role, you will:
- Architect well-thought, layered abstractions & APIs for an ambitious application
- Implement high-performance 3D web experiences for hundreds of millions of users
- Implement effective infrastructure and tests to allow high velocity with quality
- Optimize network I/O and CPU app performance across browsers
- Use modern tools & technologies - like TypeScript, WebGL, WebAssembly & glTF
- Build skills with 3D graphics technologies
- Work on a dynamic team of serial entrepreneurs, designers, developers, AI researchers, and 3D graphics specialists
Requirements
- Strong Computer Science and software engineering foundations
- 5+ years engineering production software and substantial code bases
- Experience solving complex, full-stack, design problems
- Expert in JavaScript, modern browser technology, and browser-based debugging
- Proficient in TypeScript
- Solid understanding of HTTP & TCP client-server communications
- Eager to tackle technology, systems architecture & performance challenges
- Experience with Playwright, browserstack and/or other web test automation platforms
- Great teammate - entrepreneurial, reliable, self-starter; good sense of humor
Nice to have
- Experience with 3D graphics programming a plus.
- Experience with React + Redux a plus
- Experience with AR/VR or other mixed reality projects a plus
- Strong visual aesthetic and design sense a plus
- Knowledge of software design patterns a plus

an easy walk from restaurants, coffee shops, the Stevens Creek Trail, and Caltrain commuter rail. - The USA base salary for this full-time position ranges from $130,000 to $240,000 determined by location, role, skill, and experience level.
