Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating, weekends & holidays; overtime as needed

How you will contribute to LifeNet Health’s success:

 

As a Referral Triage Coordinator, you will provide input, assist, and engage with teammates as part of the process of evaluating and facilitating organ donation. This position will respond to organ donor referrals, conduct preliminary screening relating to the identification and documentation of potential donors, evaluate potential organ donor referrals as well as engage and collaborate with both internal and external teams and management as needed.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Responds to referral calls from the Donor Center in a timely manner. Engages with hospital staff and Donor Center to obtain medical information for triage. Accurately documents donor information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Evaluate referrals by phone. Utilizes established policy to accurately determine urgency of onsite evaluation. Dispatches staff accordingly to assess potential organ donor referrals and engages management accordingly. Provides updates on potentially urgent referrals to management and addresses any clinical questions accordingly.
  • Coordinates with Transplant Coordinators and Organ Recovery Coordinators to assist with logistical coordination of transportation needs for organ donor cases. This includes but may not be limited to arranging ambulance and flight services for both local and out of state donors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in LifeNet Health EMR and hospital EMR in compliance with hospital Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and LNH policy and practice.

 

What you’ll bring (Minimum Requirements):

 

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years’ experience involving clinical aspects of donation or clinical/medical experience in a facility, hospital, or organization involving Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or related Allied Health work

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Health related field
  • Medical Professional Certification – Certified Nursing Assistant, Respiratory Therapist, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or related Allied Health Aid
  • 5 years experience involving clinical aspects of donation or clinical/medical experience in a facility, hospital, or organization involving Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or related Allied Health work
  • 1 year OPO experience handling clinical aspects of donation

  • Ability to work under extreme pressure and high emotional situations
  • PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Suite skills
  • Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure high degree of accuracy/completeness and early/on-time delivery
  • Ability to work independently. Has in-depth working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and ability to communicate this to others. Knowledge of working with electronic medical records and medical terminology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and building relationships with all professional at different levels within and outside the organization; presentation experience speaking with various types of audiences preferred
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple time sensitive projects, multi-task, identify project interdependencies and potential risks/pitfalls.
  • Ability to make decisions independently regarding medical management of organ donors, staff triage, logistical arrangements.
  • Ability to be collaborative and work as part of a team to resolve issues, complete tasks and meet business needs.
  • Knowledge in medical compliance and data sharing

Salary: $18.51 - $24.68/hourly

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location and the candidate’s qualifications and prior relevant experience. Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.

 

This position is eligible for an annual bonus once eligibility criteria are met.
