Job Purpose:
The Treasurer and Credit Controller plays a critical role in managing the company’s credit and treasury functions to optimize cash flow, mitigate financial risk, and secure financial resources. This combined role is responsible for maintaining effective credit control, overseeing debt collection, managing cash flow, handling bank facilities, and supporting strategic financial planning to ensure the organization’s financial health.
Principal Accountabilities:
Treasury
· Ensure proper management of bank facilities with all banks at all times.
· Ensure monitoring of bank fees and interest charges based on the pricing details of the bank contract.
· Ensure treasury team performs timely initiation and execution of daily interbank payments.
· Ensure supplier payments are performed from SAP via MBTI or other authorized payment methods in line with VE Group Treasury Policy.
· Ensure daily reconciliation of all supplier payments are conducted on daily basis by the treasury team.
· Ensure proper and timely registration and allocation of daily customer payments
· Ensure customer accounts reconciliations are performed on a daily basis and reconciling items explained and cleared promptly.
· Manage proper execution of forex deals in accordance with treasury policies and procedures.
· Maintain proper controls over local currency and Forex payments processing.
· Maintain up to date fit for purpose treasury procedures.
· Manage and maintain e-banking system as per the group guidelines.
· Manage and maintain banking mandate as per the group guidelines and Treasury Policy.
· Manage and maintain banking relationship as per the Group Treasury guidelines and Local Treasury Policy.
· Ensure issuance of Letters of Credit (LCs) for importation of fuel product is done accurately and on timely basis.
· Ensure accurate recording of all LCs issuance costs are done on timely basis.
Credit Control
· Timely Order processing (including payments plans) and delivery to customers on time through strict adherence to credit policy and Manual of Authority (MoA) on order processing.
· Proactively manage Credit Exposure at the total portfolio level as well as per Line of Business and per customer.
· Responsible for OU’s credit Performance Management and conducting credit business reviews with Group Treasurer.
· Responsible for debt collection and bad debt management.
· Ensure timely credit MI reporting to the group.·
· Lead weekly junior credit committee with lines of business and senior management, track actions agreed and monitor to ensure implementation.
· Assess exposure associated with debts given by the organization
· Ensure that A/R Controls are in place and being applied.
· Monitor granted annual credit limits to customer and ensure no expiration without completion of credit reassessment.
· Participate in credit projects initiated both by local and central teams.
· Proactively report on credit issues after account analyses.
· Lead credit assessments and re-assessment for new and existing customers in accordance with Credit Policy.

Requirements
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
· Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting with CPA or ACCA qualifications preferred.
· Experience in accounting and finance.
· Experience in banking and trade finance is highly valued.
· Experience of SAP software, Experience of staff management, Interpersonal skills.
