The Transportation Manager is responsible for supporting the goals and objectives of the Company.
As the Transportation Manager you will be responsible for the following:
• Handle extremely heavy inbound/outbound telephone calls and email volume.
• Maintain communication with bus drivers/monitors, transportation vendors, parents, and school staff.
• Dispatches bus drivers/transportation vendors as needed for the purpose of ensuring that all routes are covered for the transportation of students.
• Informs school personnel and parents of practices (e.g. rules, regulations, laws, etc.) for the purpose of providing information for their follow-up action.
• Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents files and records (e.g. student data, route changes, routing procedures, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
• Processes a variety of materials (e.g. field trip requests, route changes, etc.) for the purpose of updating and distributing
• information, authorizing action and/or complying with mandated requirements.
• Responds to inquiries from students, parents, and/or staff (e.g. stop locations, schedule, state regulated policies, etc.) for the purpose of providing the necessary information regarding transportation services.
• Participates in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
• Assists in the planning and preparation of bus routes; Assist with routing in providing drivers with the most current route, student information, schedules, maps, and directions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Assesses incidents, complaints, etc. (e.g. safety issues, transportation routes, etc.) for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation.
• Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. procedures, correspondence, memos, reports,.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
• Presents information for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance rosters from transportation personnel
• Responds to emergency situations during and after standard hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Qualifications
High school diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
2+ years experience in a pupil transportation related role
Fluency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
