Transport Planner (Fixed Term), Delivery Planning Team

IKEA sells millions of products around the world every day and each one must make its way from supplier to customer. Supply Chain Operations plays a vital role in the IKEA supply chain and make sure that the transportation is performed in a professional way, securing all requirements related to availability, optimal total cost, quality & sustainability.

Your tasks will include:

•    Planning and booking optimal transport solutions under the consideration of IKEA supply chain stakeholder preconditions.
•    To monitor proper execution of the transportations under his/her responsibility
•    Reschedule and/or cancel shipments in case of logistical operational deviations. 
•    Work in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. carriers, suppliers) to solve operational deviations during delivery planning and execution. Follow-up operational deviations and search for solutions to avoid operational deviations in the future. 
•    Secure transport capacity by monitoring and requesting spot solutions within agreed frame.
•    Secure proactive communication with internal IKEA supply chain stakeholders and external Service Providers.
•    Secure correct data in our systems to secure proper visibility and provide reasons codes for any deviation in our planning process.
•    Follow-up Extra-costs and investigate all cases. 

Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Quick learner and good flexibility to adapt to change
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach
  • Experience in Transport Planning roles
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferred University degree in the Transportation/Logistics field
  • Capability to deal with multiple tasks under time pressure
  • Ability to act pro-actively and be able to find new solutions
  • Italian and English speaker
