What’s the opportunity?

The Transactional Tax Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of transactional tax compliance and strategy for the company. This role requires in-depth knowledge of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the company meets its tax obligations and optimizes its tax position.

What will I be doing?

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable transactional tax regulations, including sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes.
  • Tax Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Reporting: Review tax returns, filings, and other documentation to ensure accurate and timely submission.
  • Audit Support: Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • System Implementation: Collaborate with IT and finance teams to implement and maintain tax compliance systems and software.
  • Research: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and assess their impact on the company's operations.
  • Advisory: Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders on business transactions, contracts, and new products or services.

What skills do I need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in transactional tax, preferably within the payment processing or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in tax compliance software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations in relevant jurisdictions.
