Job Overview:
FitzMark is looking to add a Training and Development Specialist to facilitate all training and ongoing development for all of FitzMark’s new and current employees. This position will have an immediate impact on both new and tenured FitzMark employees and their contributions to our organizational development. In this role, it will be crucial to promote an active learning environment and create an effective sales training program that will ensure our new employees will achieve success in their new role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Present information using a variety of formats, techniques, and resources (i.e., role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures)
- Provide training programs to help employees maintain and improve individual job skills and have a strong understanding of the transportation and 3PL industry
- Coordinate with the Recruiting Teamon scheduling new hires for monthly training programs
- Work closely with the Training Team and Director to create and enhance the training program for all new hires
- Oversee a group of new hires each month - including follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days to ensure the tools and processes taught during training are implemented and perfected
- Administer ongoing training to existing team members on an as-needed basis
- Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training of employees
- Communicate with the management team to proactively identify topics to be addressed or areas in need of additional instruction
- Develop and analyze metrics to gauge employee performance once out of training
- Conduct continuous employee development as needed
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
- Relevant industry experience in logistics, 3PLs preferred
- Previous experience in training and/or employee development or related field preferred
- Experience creating yearly training plans and materials for multiples departments preferred
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and adult training methodologies
- Must be in office full-time in our Chattanooga, TN location
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and adult training methodologies
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and a variety of duties simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience developing, managing, leading, and communicating effectively
- Strong understanding of business goals and needs, and standards for customer service
- Ability to live out FitzMarks’ culture and influence our culture in the training classroom
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to learn our systems and processes quickly and efficiently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
