Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
1. Using CAD software (Solidworks), Design all mechanical elements of either manual, semiautomatic or fully automatic tooling and equipment used in volume production in Samtec’s br /assembly processes.br /2. Communicate in a collaborative environment to provide mechanical design support for the br /design needs of internal customers.br /3. Validate that Product Quality and Process Reliability are designed into all projects through br /project qualifications.br /4. Understand the purposes and review of project costing and margin requirements with br /applications engineering.br /5. Develops clear, measureable requirements for success based on the established standards br /and in concert with project teams.br /6. Lead the creation and maintenance of a detailed project schedule to update Management of br /the status on the progress of the project in regular basis.br /7. Responsible for the project specifications, evaluation of suppliers, their quotations and cost br /control of the project budget.br /8. Ensures the project delivered is compliant with all relevant OSHA, ANSI and local standards br /in respect to the design and engineering work practices.br /9. Conduct regular project meetings with the project team throughout the project on:br /a. Machine/Equipment/Tooling design and status.br /b. Controls/Systems design and status.br /10. Review project specifications, deliverables and requirement with applications engineering./ppstrongRequired Experience:/strong/pp1. 5-10 years relevant working experience in: br /a. Automation Machine Design (optional) br /b. Design for Manufacturing br /c. High Speed Assembly Equipment (optional) br /d. Machine Tools br /e. Precision Tooling br /f. Industrial Machine Control Systems (optional)br /2. 3-5 years relevant experience in project management is preferred.br /3. Solid interpersonal communication skills, a professional demeanor, cooperative personality,br /and a team attitude are all required. Works well with others and interacts effectively and br /efficiently with internal and external people and groups.br /4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.br /5. Ability to use SolidWorks and MS Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint Document br /Management, and general computer literacy.br /6. Extensive cross functional team expertise including technical and non-technical work.br /7. Analytical and creative thinker, problem solver, result-orientated and focused.br /8. Printed Circuit Board manufacturing experience is desired but not required.br /9. Highly organized, ability to prioritize a varied and fast-changing workload.br /10. Motivated, high achiever, persistent and conscientious/ppbr /strongPreferred Education:/strong/pp1.Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering / related technical or equivalent experience./p
