THRIVE Implementation Specialist
The THRIVE Implementation Specialist is responsible for implementing the THRIVE and Brave Conversations Curricula throughout the state of Illinois. This position works under the supervision of the Director of Education.
Essential Functions:
1. Learn and facilitate multi session THRIVE modules to teenage youth in foster care on topics including reproductive and sexual healthcare, self-esteem and identity, healthy relationships, and abuse and sexual violence at partner sites throughout Illinois.
2. Learn and facilitate Brave Conversations modules to child welfare professionals on topics including, reproductive and sexual health, healthy relationships, supporting youth and being a resource, and having difficult conversations, at partner sites throughout Illinois.
3. Work closely with partner sites to plan implementation and overcome barriers to successful delivery of curricula.
4. Follow required data reporting processes for the THRIVE Grant.
5. Support efforts of the Development department when reporting about THRIVE work.
6. Track and learn updates to sexual health innovation in healthcare and updates to relevant laws and policies that affect sexual health access.
7. Represent PPIL at THRIVE working group meetings.
8. Provide instruction using supportive and inclusive education techniques in all settings.
9. Use proven classroom engagement techniques to keep audience on track and involved during sessions.
10. Contribute to curriculum adaptation as THRIVE and Brave Conversations curricula are delivered.
11. Teach innovative educational outreach programming targeted to audiences at highest risk for unplanned pregnancy and STI’s in settings such as schools, community organizations, correctional facilities and treatment centers.
12. Learn and teach PPIL’s high quality, age appropriate, inclusive and fact-based sexual health educational curriculum
13. Use classroom and behavior management techniques to keep students on track and engaged while teaching in classrooms with up to 50 students
14. Provide an active, reliable presence at health fairs and other community venues, lending accurate information and referrals for community members seeking PPIL services. Promote preventative health care and healthy behaviors for all community members during community engagement activities and connect community organizations to educational opportunities.
15. Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to remain informed about PPIL protocols, policies, and procedures.
16. Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to PPIL core values of access, activism, care, confidentiality, diversity, excellence, integrity, respect, self-determination, and stewardship; practice these values in relations with internal and external customers.
Other Functions:
1. Maintain and track required data about THRIVE implementation
2. Attend professional development opportunities to learn new and advanced strategies for delivering content
3. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisor: Director of Education
Status: Hourly, nonexempt from the overtime provision of the wage and salary guidelines.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
• This position requires travel around Chicago and throughout the state of Illinois; Access to reliable transportation is a requirement. This role also requires some travel and overnight stays when facilitating in sites throughout the state of Illinois.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. High School Diploma/GED required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work through and with people at multiple levels and agencies.
• Exceptional organizational skills, capable of defining an agenda, pacing activities and tracking progress across disciplines and regions.
• Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health.
• Experience with public speaking and facilitation
• Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.
Professional and Personal Qualities:
High degree of professionalism, coupled with flexibility to apply professional skills in a variety of situations. Strong public speaking skills; ability to prepare oral presentations on a wide variety of sexual health topics. Strong commitment to the operating goals of Planned Parenthood. Willingness to participate as a team member and work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
