The Marcy Lab School, Director of Operations

Brooklyn, United States
Full-Time

ORGANIZATION

At The Marcy Lab School, we provide a rigorous yet affordable college alternative that propels underestimated young people into the financially-rewarding, purpose-driven tech careers of their dreams. We build the engineering expertise, critical thinking skills, leadership qualities, and the network that our fellows need to become their best selves, serve their communities, and thrive within an evolving tech sector.

As a member of the Marcy Lab team, you are integral to this mission, as outlined in more depth below. This “Roles and Responsibilities” document aims to clearly define your role and prioritize your responsibilities, while also articulating the goals you’ll work towards this year to best support Marcy Lab’s mission, your team’s collective efforts, and your own individual growth. In addition to the responsibilities and goals outlined below, we also expect that all members of the Marcy Lab team will approach their work staff, fellows, and partners in alignment with our Pillars of Character:

  • Ingenious Curiosity
    • We are wildly talented, yet also have a world of brilliance and potential to unlock. Our passion for thinking and figuring it out will always guide us in the right direction, and we will leave no stone unturned to solve problems and build solutions. When we get lost, curiosity can bring us home;
  • Collective Responsibility
    • We care deeply for each other and are beholden to our networks and communities. We are responsible to them as much as to ourselves, in our daily work, in our future aspirations, and in our ultimate solutions. We are in this together, and we carry this value with us wherever we go;
  • Bold Ambition
    • Our goals are audacious because we refuse to sell ourselves short. While we will experience failure, doubt, and fatigue, we will persist because we see where we want to go and are 100% committed to getting there. There is no turning back;
  • Tough Love
    • No matter the circumstances, we are worthy of love and hard work, and will push ourselves to do the wholehearted labor of stepping into our own power. We deserve every opportunity to realize success, wealth, and solutions for ourselves and our communities;
  • Unwavering Discipline
    • We hold ourselves accountable to a relentlessly high bar day in and day out, in ways big and small.
