[THAILAND] Assistant Manager Supply Chain

Key responsibilities (Thailand and other “direct-sales-markets / MTO markets):

  • Lead supply chain activities for Santen in Thailand and other direct-sales-markets / MTO markets
  • Day to day control of local supply operations, inventory management, distributor management and inbound logistics to ensure required customer service levels
  • Govern IBP or S&OP processes for relevant markets

Demand & Supply planning

  • Lead the forecasting process which includes the integration of historical sales trends, researching of demand drivers (competitive responses, trend, substitution effects, etc).
  • Development of statistical forecast models and incorporating marketing assumptions to develop a rolling 36-month forecast.
  • Interface with Marketing and Sales teams to incorporate market insights into the forecast.

S&OP Process

  • Lead monthly CFU IBP (Country S&OP) meeting with cross functional team (Sales & Marketing, RA, Finance and MA).
  • Develop supply plan/forecast based on standard planning parameters and establish phase in / phase out plan for any changes and variations.
  • Collaborate with RA / QA to track visa renewal requirements and establish bridging stock plan.

Purchase order management

  • Receive and verify purchase orders by local distributor as accordance to manufacturing rules, MOQ and lead time. Responsible for order tracking, expedition & fulfillment status.
  • Review and verify selling price to distributor.
  • Furnish purchase order confirmation to local distributor.

Product Launch excellence

  • Proactively track MA approval timeline and furnish in advance the projected forecast for capacity planning.
  • Coordinate launch activities with functional teams such as commercial (Sales and Marketing), Regulatory, Quality and Finance team.
  • Collate all necessary information related to the launch from Regional SCM and aligned with the respective functions.

Inbound logistics

  • Pro-active coordination with forwarders, consignee, distributor to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery of inbound shipments to warehouse.
  • Verify and Confirm Import duties and Taxes for each inbound shipment, if applicable.
  • Screen through all shipping documents provided by vendors and verify import license validity to avoid delays in customs clearance.

Inventory Management

  • Perform finished goods inventory planning, management and reporting (e.g. short-dated or expired goods, aging inventory, quarantined / rejected goods, damaged goods)
  • Monitor stock movement at Distributor’s warehouse and ensure FEFO policy is complied.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of inventory between stock aging report by distributor and internal planning system.

Distributor Management  

  • Develop, discuss, and set KPIs with the team to manage Distributor’s performance.
  • Facilitate monthly business review meeting with distributor and functional team.
  • Submit the monthly KPI report to Regional SCM Team.

General tasks

  • Verify billings from service providers related to Supply Chain cost, if applicable
  • Create or update SOPs for the local Supply Chain processes and Operating procedures on related system.
  • Participate and support in the implementation of SCM/Logistics projects and perform various analysis on request.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business/Pharmaceuticals Degree or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • More than 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management in the Healthcare business or multinational company environment.
  • Hands on experience in supply chain operations, sales & operations planning, materials management, logistics, warehouse / physical distribution, and customer order fulfillment
  • Knowledge and experience dealing with Third Party Warehouse is highly desirable
  • Experience in leading the Sales and Operations planning process
  • Strong knowledge of the Regulatory, Legal, Quality and Financial dimensions and linkages to and with the Planning organization
  • Knowledge and experience on the entire supply chain management life cycle
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical products, medical devices and/or OTC and general manufacturing processes
  • Skills in demand planning tool and ERP/MRP system.
  • Experience using word processing, flowchart, presentation, spreadsheet, and project management software at a demonstrated intermediate level.
  • Intermediate understanding and knowledge of international business and pharmaceutical cGMP and GDP regulations.
  • APICS Certification (CSCP or CPIM) is a plus

  • Fluent in English and Thai language preferably.
  • Ability to work independently, partner effectively with other functions in Thailand and/or Asia.
  • Ability to work towards and deliver on stringent deadlines.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with broader team in International Environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously, using initiative and problem-solving skills when needed.
  • Be both flexible and comfortable in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Be a team player and work in an international environment.
  • Very good Microsoft skills especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project as well as MS Visio.
  • Understand ethics, compliance, and business conduct issues pertaining to our industry.
