Under supervision of the Program Chair of TESOL/TFL provides administrative support. This is a non-exempt, temporary part time staff position.
Position Summary:
This position involves supporting the TESOL/TFL Program Chair with various administrative projects throughout the semester. Main projects include developing content for the bi-annual departmental newsletter and helping foster community in the TESOL/TFL Program, in addition to other administrative tasks that arise. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, attentive to detail, and an effective communicator both orally and in writing. The position is particularly relevant to those aspiring to complete the Language Program Administration Specialization, although all interested students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who can serve in the role for the entire academic year, that is, both fall and spring semesters. The time commitment is 3 hours/week, and pay is $15.50/hour.

Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Keyboarding skills of approximately 50 w.p.m.
· Current computer skills, to include word processing, knowledge of internet, email and database management (Excel, Access).
· Solid written and oral communication skills.
· Professional and courteous telephone skills.
· Attention to detail and record keeping skills.
· Skilled command of grammar and spelling.
· Capacity to prioritize and organize work requests and projects, often under pressure.
· Ability to use common office machines such as photocopier, multi-line telephone systems, fax machines.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and public relations skills, including ability to work cooperatively with culturally and linguistically diverse students, clients, staff, faculty, and public.
· Willingness and ability to comply with Institute policies, procedures, and mandates.
Education/Experience
A combination of education and experience, which would demonstrate possession of the skills required for the position. Minimum three years comparable experience. College-level coursework and familiarity with an academic setting desirable.
Physical Requirements/Environment
