SRCTec, LLC is currently seeking a Technical Writer. The selected candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for radar and electronic warfare technologies. Key responsibilities include implementing a quality assurance process, contributing to content development, improving process efficiency, researching innovative methods, and collaborating with team members. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of SRC's technical documentation and training materials.
What You’ll Do
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)s, in compliance with various military, commercial, and SRC proprietary formats
- Develop and deliver technical training materials that meet the needs of a diverse audience, particularly for DoD-related training
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of technical documentation and training materials with relevant standards and guidelines
- Integrate technical manual and training material content using e-learning platforms and XML schemas
- Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and other team members to gather information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, and standards related to technical writing and training material development
- Provide technical support and assistance to customers regarding technical documentation and training materials
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or technical writing discipline with 5 or more years of experience in the DoD sector; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience of 4 or more years as a technical writer producing publications compliant with MIL-STD-38784 or similar technical requirements OR as training material developer producing materials meeting DoD requirements
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Experience creating or familiarity with training material development and delivery methods compliant with SAT or similar DoD training requirements
- Possess the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, flexibly shift between projects, and meet strict deadlines, including those set by DoD clients
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, and Project, commonly used in DoD documentation and project management
- Some remote work is possible, but the position routinely requires physical presence at SRCTec facilities in Syracuse NY, particularly for DoD-related projects
- Must be U.S. citizen
Ways to Stand Out - Preferred Requirements
- Familiarity with Arbortext, Captivate, Articulate, or similar authoring tools to produce unstructured and structured technical writing, in line with DoD standards
- Experience developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), applying S1000D/MILSTD DTDs, authoring using JavaScript, or using SGML/XML software tools is a big plus for DoD-related projects

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated $82,000 to $96,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
