Technical Project Manager

Tyler Technologies’ Public Safety Cloud Operations team is currently looking to hire a Technical Project Manager to manage cloud projects and migrations across our suite of Public Safety software.  This position will be located in Troy, MI and will be expected to work a hybrid schedule. 
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Identify project deliverables and set deadlines.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to secure necessary technical and team member resources for each phase of the project.
  • Ensure proper time submission against projects for future forecasting efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the migration process.
  • Conduct planning sessions with the client’s key functional leaders to create documented management plans that specify the project plan and scope, as well as discussion of current issues.
  • Assess existing client software usage and interfaces to assist in cloud migration strategy.
  • Oversee smooth integration of client interfaces with cloud systems.
  • Management of VPN requests from clients to internal networking teams.
  • Coordination of the VPN installations as well as its testing with our clients and internal hosting teams.
  • Identify potential risks to the project and proactively develop strategies to prevent project delays.
  • Maintain project documentation, including project plans, activities scheduled, and prior client interactions.
  • Present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide high-level technical guidance and direction to clients.
  • Take ownership of difficult conversations with clients and internal teams, driving issues to successful resolution.
  • Deliver exceptional service and support.
  • Work on multiple projects without compromising quality.
 

Qualifications: 

  • An understanding of cloud technologies, project management, and software deployment projects.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to see items through to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
  • Preferably, working towards or already having obtained a PMP certification.
  • Preferably, a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Preferably, proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or a related field, especially in cloud migration projects.
  • Experience in the Public Safety domain and/or experience using Enterprise Public Safety software, or equivalent software solution is a plus.
