Joining the Earth Data (EDA) team based in the Houston and reporting to Director of Acquisition and Processing Technology, the Technical Project Manager will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support to the EDA team and to act as the technical focal point to external clients.

Principle Accountabilities

  • As part of the Technical team, the Technical Project Manager works alongside Marine Acquisition and Operations teams, as well as the Data Management, Contract Management and Marketing teams.  These functions support and cross-train one another wherever possible.
  • Provide sales team support for Marine acquisition designs and conduct synthetic modelling. Work with the technical team to reach geophysical and economically appropriate consensus. Build the processing sequence accordingly.
  • Provide technical support on Machine Learning (ML) technologies: to develop and execute technical projects with ML as key components.   
  • Monitor, manage, and approve multi-client processing and imaging projects. Chair client progress meetings, manage technical communications with external clients, manage timelines, deliverables, and follow-up on archival of the final products once project is concluded.  As part of the Project Management role, the candidate will have the opportunity to implement and design key processes and practices across the region.  In addition, work with our Sales & Business Development teams to identify key technologies that can be applied to EDA projects and explain the value propositions of these techniques.
  • The management of multiple client relationships as well as internal stakeholders with varying needs and requirements will also be paramount to the role and therefore the incumbent will provide timely and pertinent information to all these stakeholders on their projects.
  • Advising clients on highly technical issues whilst ensuring product quality is delivered, within the agreed project deadlines, and will be required to stay up to date with all latest technology and represent EDA in technical talks and presentations where possible.
  • 10+ years’ experience in geophysics, including hands-on offshore processing.
  • Master’s degree in geophysics, physics, mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills, including advanced English language skills and proven ability to effectively work across different cultures, are essential.
  • Client interaction experience needed. Comfortable conducting client meetings and delivering technical presentations.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Long term project management and organization skills
  • The skill and drive to work autonomously in a small team with minimal resources but extensive scope.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across diverse geoscience communities both internally and externally.
