What we’re looking for:

As a Technical Program Manager you’ll be: 

  • Passionate about the more technical parts of the product strategy
  • Able to form close working relationships with development, engineering, infrastructure, and other technical teams
  • Bringing a different perspective to Reconciliations that can be both a reality check on what’s realistic as well as unlocking new possibilities by leveraging new technological advances.
  • Enjoy owning and delivering various projects as we continue to build our function 
  • Gains a deep understanding of Reconciliations, our tools, our business needs and those of the wider company 

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities would include:

  • Uncover and understand the Reconciliations Team needs and translate them into requirements
  • Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, quality assurance, operations as well as being the Technical point of contact for our tool provider
  • Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. Able to assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly
  • Provide internal training on how to use the product
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities
  • Assess and address technical risks of our product 
  • Understand and analyse data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems
  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community internally 
  • Coordinate and assist any testing within the tool, providing and communicating a deep and clear understanding of what needs to be done and how
  • Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation
  • Control of the ticketing function within Reconciliations, ensuring timely updates and clear communication
  • Be an escalation point for our third party provider 
  • Executes tasks quickly and efficiently to support the team where possible 
  • Understands day to day problems or issues as they arise and has a deep understanding of how to fix them
  • Can understand the context of situations of problems and is able to provide valuable insight to the team on why the problem has occured and best approach to fix 
  • Be a driver of implementing new Reconciliations use-cases onto the tool to support automation and lessen manual overhead
  • Identifies problems and their root causes and seeks to implement change to avoid it happening again in the future 
  • Able to provide accurate and timely updates and information to senior management

Duties would include:

  • Product Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear product strategy aligned with business goals. Define the product vision, goals, and roadmap to guide the development process
  • Requirements Definition: Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and define detailed product requirements. Translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical teams, Reconciliations, Third Parties and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to product development. Foster collaboration and effective communication among team members
  • Agile Product Management: Implement Agile methodologies to facilitate iterative and incremental product development. Prioritise and manage product backlogs, conduct sprint planning, and oversee product releases
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the product. Communicate effectively with Reconciliations and development teams, addressing technical challenges, and making informed decisions to guide the product's technical direction
  • Product Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of the product. Use data to make informed decisions, identify areas for improvement, and optimise product features
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure that the product complies with relevant standards and requirements. Collaborate with compliance and risk teams as needed

 

What makes you a great fit:

  • 7-10 years’ experience working in banking, financial services or software product firms
  • You have Technical experience in a FinTech/Financial services industry
  • Experience crafting product roadmaps from conception to launch, driving the product vision, defining go-to-market strategy, leading design discussions keeping end-user experience as the north star
  • Highly analytical demeanour with an ability to make decisions using both quantitative and qualitative data to gauge exciting priorities across business units in multiple geographies. Quickly move between contexts, and demonstrate agility and focus while continuing to deliver
  • Experience and proficiency with modern databases (Snowflake/AWS/Azure, etc.) along with experience in integrating with front-end technology stacks. SQL skills and familiarity with big data technologies and the data infrastructure ecosystem
  • Good Understanding of the Modern data architecture of data pipelines, data warehousing, and data management systems and knowledge of data lifecycle design and methodologies
  • Should be a collaborative teammate partnering with Reconciliations, Engineering Teams, Dev Ops, and other stakeholders to deliver compelling products that meet those needs
  • Experience and the ability to work in an Agile delivery environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT industry trends, suppliers, and products
  • Understanding of Cloud methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, logical skills and a strong team player
  • You are confident in working closely with other teams and taking ownership of projects
  • You have meticulous attention to detail
  • You have a curious mind and strong problem solving capability
  • You are highly organised, detail oriented, diligent and has excellent time-management skills
  • You’re comfortable working in a fast-moving company where priorities can change and processes may need to be created from scratch
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Passion for problem-solving and finding solutions to difficult situations
  • You are always on the lookout for recurring issues and help create new workflows to solve them

Our Tech Stack (You don’t have to excel in all, but willing to learn them):

  • Excel
  • AutoRek or another Reconciliation tool
  • Familiar with Google applications e.g G-Drive, G-sheets, G-meet etc.
  • Atlassian based products 
  • SQL
