Technical Program Manager - Forensic Lab Operations

We are seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager (TPM) with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role to oversee and manage projects in our on-site testing lab. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in coding, AI model development, and strong project management capabilities. This role involves working closely with the team on-site to track progress, ensure lab alignment with leadership goals and ISO standards, and contribute to lab process improvements. You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of key documentation and reports. 

  • Project coordination – tour of the lab – very strong communication background and understanding of the lab environment.   
  • Some experience in tasking tools and case management tools, incident case follow-up  
  • Being available for meeting and taking notes with executive briefing   
  • Actively engage in coding and AI/ML model development, assist in the creation of AI tools to streamline lab operations, support investigations, and optimize workflows. 
  • Track and manage lab projects on-site, working closely with teammates to ensure they meet timelines and align with both leadership goals and strategic priorities. 
  • Monitor and analyze lab metrics, providing regular updates and comprehensive reports to the Lab Manager on a weekly and monthly basis. 
  • Develop and maintain all necessary SOPs, SOWs, presentations, and lab reports to ensure efficient lab operations. 
  • Ensure all lab activities are aligned with ISO standards. Manage the timely delivery of ISO-related documentation, ensuring compliance with requirements and contributing to successful audits. 
  • Ensure that the lab's objectives and activities are consistently aligned with lab goals and company strategies, driving operational consistency and focus. 

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • 2+ years of experience in a technical program management role within a relevant industry, such as a testing lab or hardware/firmware environment. 
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical program management within an industrial or lab setting. 
    • Experience in coding Artificial Intelligence programs using Python, Spyder, Jupiter, or any other similar programs.
    • Proven experience with coding (e.g., Python) and AI/ML model development. 
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, work cross-functionally, and meet deadlines. 
    • Strong experience in ISO compliance, including managing ISO documentation and deliverables to ensure timely and successful audits. 
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to clearly present complex data. 
  • Preferred Qualifications: 
    • Experience in a testing lab environment or hardware/firmware industry is a plus. 
    • Familiarity with lab tools, data collection, and testing equipment.

The base salary range for this position in California is $120,000-$135,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per California SB 1162.
