About The Role:
As a Technical Program Manager, you lead the cornerstone projects for Honda to deliver the future mobile apps and platforms for Honda and Acura globally. This is a critical part to grow Honda’s presence in the EV market while transforming the enterprise to product-driven, more agile culture.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the mobile app and platform’s requirement gathering, technical specification alignment, and system integrations with Honda’s different regions such as Japan and Asia.
  • Create high quality documents as necessary.
  • Manage detailed project plans for different regions, track and report progress against agreed milestones.
  • Interface between product, engineering and QA to ensure requirements are trace-able, and deliverables meet acceptance criteria.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage project risks and issues; develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and address issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-regional projects between Drivemode and Honda Japan and Drivemode US team

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of Technical Program Management, Project Management or related experience in tech startups or large companies, ideally both, and 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or system architect.
  • Native level Japanese together with Business level in English.
  • Successful experience in large scale system design and implementations/integrations, and technical acumen to understand security, privacy, reliability, and safety aspects of the product.
  • Experience and deep knowledge in mobile app development (iOS and Android) and/or server and connection-heavy products such as notifications, subscription systems, and authentications and ID management.
  • Proactive, detail oriented, master of collaboration, ninja of catching dropping balls
  • We are a hybrid workplace and specifically seek individuals who are either located within a commutable distance from our office or are open to relocation.

Nice to Have:

  • Have worked on software products that interact with hardware (connected/ IoT devices), and better yet, in the automotive industry.
  • Basic understanding on automotive software development or dealer management software.
  • Have worked in a multicultural/ multi-region environment with many stakeholders and regions involved.
