Summary:
The Product Owner is the bridge between business-stakeholders and IT development team. In this role the person needs to be highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic to lead continued development of Buzz Integrations cloud-based software platform comprised of Web, Mobile, API, ETL programs, CMS, CRM, Claim Adjudication Engine, Data Warehouse, etc. Product Owner is responsible for the product and product feature from concept to EOL and works with product management, architects, and development teams to ensure that business, quality, and functional/non-functional goals are met with each product release. The Product Owner is a key decision maker, along with the Software, Program and Product Leaders, on backlog priorities and design, and will ensure that all stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with diverse, geographically distributed teams in a startup-like environments. This role should have innate curiosity and deep empathy: by speaking with someone for half an hour to understand their core concerns, motivations, and what would be necessary to create value for them.
Product Owner is passionate about building game-changing software with the experience to back it up and excited to apply the skills to revolutionize development resources in managing and delivering quality software product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Take lead of agile teams, defining product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, communicating with stakeholders throughout the project
Leads the translation of software features into technical requirements
Leads Agile Scrum software development team practices
Ensures there is ample room for the development team to do their work by creating and maintaining an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
Develop detailed product feature specifications, non-functional requirements, user-stories, acceptance criteria and ensure they are clearly understood by the development teams
Actively mitigate roadblocks impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals
Serve as the product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product
Coordinate and participate in User Acceptance Testing and product demos prior to production release
Track and report business value metrics of deployed features on a weekly basis
Deliver products & features that promote customer acquisition, growth, retention & engagement
Lead and work with cross-functional team across engineering, design, community managers, marketing, business development, user support and other areas to prioritize, align and deliver on clear product goals and success metrics
Ensure timely delivery of projects through proper planning, scheduling, leadership, and execution
Analyze and act on business metrics and data to achieve KPI’s
Manage and administer Atlassian products like Jira, Confluence, etc.
Improves team adoption of best-in-class scrum practices to drive efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience working in a fast-paced business environment as a Product Owner working with software and solution requirements, particularly in a platform that comprised of Web, Mobile, API, ETL programs, CMS, CRM, Data Warehouse, etc.
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in modern software technologies including, web, mobile and cloud-based technologies
Experience in developing within the Agile framework (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) utilizing Atlassian tools
Demonstrated experience in willingness to learning and implementing COTS modules (e.g., CMS, CRM, eCommerce Platform, Data Warehouse solutions)
An “execution mindset” focused on getting things done quickly and simply
Strong interpersonal skills, negotiating ability and evidence of enabling teamwork in a matrix environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare industry with exposure to HIPAA compliance, PHI and PII
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer science or related tech discipline or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, tools, and capabilities
Experience with Experimentation, SEO, Google Analytics, and Web Performance-Tuning Certificate Preference:
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Product Manager (CPM)
Work Location
This position can be remote for purposes of providing adequate support to internal clients; offshore teams, being available for interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as for facilitation of quick and effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.
Working Hours
This is an exempt level position requiring one to work the hours needed to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Travel
This position may require domestic travel as well as attendance at various local conferences and meetings.
