Title: Mechanical Engineer - Technical Marketing
Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Technical Marketing team in designing and building systems and displays for trade shows, whitepapers, and webinars. This role involves close collaboration with the Active Systems Department, New Product Engineering, and Product Managers to create impactful demonstrations that showcase our products' features and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments to build and track demo inventory and logistics.
- Contribute to the design and mechanical drawings for automation of demo systems.
- Manipulate models for additive manufacturing and prototype builds.
- Rebuild and maintain existing demo units while developing new ones.
- Create web support, trade show support, and documentation including blogs, technical articles, literature, and catalog support.
- Chart the content calendar and strategically deploy demos to shows and regions.
- Support the Active Systems Hub with mechanical design.
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in design/development/manufacturing of complex assemblies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of machine/system design techniques.
- A detail-oriented, focused, and task-oriented individual with a willingness to learn.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- 3D software experience is required. SolidWorks background is preferred.
- Solid understanding and application of physics and engineering fundamentals.
- Lifting Requirements: Medium Work – Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds from floor to waist.
- Must be able to sit for more than 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic understanding of connector assemblies and machine design principles.
- Maker/Prototyping skills including 3D printing, laser cutting, and soldering.

- Excellent technical communication skills for contributing to white papers and webinars.
- Public Speaking with the ability to present technical topics.
- Ability to travel to support demos at trade shows.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- Technical or engineering experience can substitute for preferred education.
Training required:
- On the job training as appropriate.
