Job Summary
The Technical Manager holds the responsibility for and management of all design, reviews, tenders, processes, and procedures. Manage and Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering and technical team for project construction. Coordinate and liaise with stake holders on all projects related budgets, managerial & design decisions during the project's life cycle.
As part of the senior management team, the incumbent holds the responsibility to liaise and coordinate with the Technical Director and the rest of the senior management team/peers with all matters related to operational issues required for the success of the program in accordance with the client expectations.
As part of the Branch Office team, the incumbent also holds the responsibility to assist in the setting, implementing, monitoring, and reporting of all required management reports and KPIs for the particular department in accordance to the program’s procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and coordination of all engineering activities of the Branch Office.
Lead, by example, the team of multi-disciplinary engineers by delegating work according to specialism, project priorities, technical challenges and contractual milestones.
Plan and maintain project budgets and schedule planning activities with team and managers.
Attend progress and technical meetings, discuss and suggest technical proposal
Take part in project and risk management reviews
Manage the Technical Office teams on Technical and Department issues
Review the List of Deliverables as well as ensures the compliance with the contract and project requirements.
Support review of invoices, when required for technical assistance
Documenting project issues/conditions.
Monitoring, coaching and developing the Engineering team members.
Maintaining organized and detailed project records
Lead the tendering process for civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and client requirements.
Collaborate other departments to gather necessary information and documentation for tender submissions.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant materials to develop accurate and competitive pricing strategies.
Prepare and submit comprehensive tender documentation, including technical and commercial proposals, within the specified deadlines.
Conduct market research to identify potential projects and assess competition to enhance tender strategies.
Manage and mentor a team of tendering professionals, providing guidance and support throughout the tendering process.
Maintain a detailed database of submitted tenders, outcomes, and lessons learned to inform future bidding strategies.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and terms for project resources.
Review and assess risks associated with tender submissions and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to tendering and procurement.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to enhance business opportunities.
Participate in post-tender reviews and debriefs to gather feedback and improve future tender submissions.
