As a Technical Consultant - Hosting and Data Migration at FreeBalance, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our on-going success by delivering quality and timely technical services during the implementation, roll-out, support and sustenance of our products to our customers for all project deployments. Drawing upon your technical / systems / product / database / solutions expertise and serve as a subject matter expert for technical analysis and specification efforts. Main responsibilities:

Analyze and troubleshoot customer issues related to defects, enhancements, and technical challenges, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.

Assess technical requirements and determine the appropriate resolution, whether it involves defect fixes, procedural updates, or configuration adjustments to the FreeBalance Accountability Suite, while providing guidance to the customer.

Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s current technical environment, infrastructure, and integration points, providing recommendations for optimization and seamless operation of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite.

Act as the primary technical liaison for the customer during the deployment of new features, functions, and modules, ensuring a smooth transition and providing 1st and 2nd level support during the post-implementation phase.

Deliver 1st and 2nd level technical support to government users through the government’s internal issue tracking system, ensuring timely resolution of reported issues and compliance with SLAs.

Log and track all customer-reported issues, including defects, enhancements, modifications, and operational queries, in the FreeBalance Customer Portal, and escalate them to internal systems for further analysis and resolution.

Support hosting and data migration activities, ensuring data integrity, proper system configuration, and minimal disruption during transitions.

Collaborate with internal teams to improve system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to product enhancements based on customer feedback.

Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with customers and internal teams to improve understanding of system functionalities and best practices.

Travel as required to provide onsite support, training, or system assessments.

Qualifications:

University/College Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Development, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of enterprise software systems, including application software, database systems, and middleware solutions.

Experience with Business Intelligence (BI), dashboard, and reporting solutions using open-source tools such as Pentaho, BIRT, Crystal Reports, and/or Bootstrap.

Proficiency in ANSI SQL, with hands-on experience in administering and optimizing Oracle, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL databases.

Experience configuring and managing middleware such as Tomcat Servlet Engine, JBoss Application Server, or similar industry-standard platforms.

Knowledge of database clustering, performance monitoring, and optimization techniques is considered an asset.

Experience with both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, including system administration and troubleshooting.

Certifications in RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) are considered a strong asset.

Excellent client management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is required.
