Purpose of the Technical Claims Manager (Motor):

Zego’s Claims department is growing and we are looking for an experienced Technical Claims Manager to join our growing team.

The Technical Claims Manager’s focal point will be to implement our Quality Assurance Framework, auditing our internal claims team and external providers for technical excellence as well as auditing our customer journey ensuring that outstanding levels of services are being delivered to our customers.

The Technical Claims Manager will conduct root cause analysis - using the data from monthly audits and complaints to support customer improvements and drive indemnity saving initiatives while supporting technical queries from both internal teams and from our external suppliers.

The ideal Technical Claims Manager has to be analytical, possess strong technical motor claims experience. A background in handling and/or auditing all aspects of a motor claim from first notification of loss through to third party damage, hire, injury and litigation is essential.

What you'll be working on as a Technical Claims Manager (Motor):

  • Implementation of our Quality Assurance Framework 
  • Creating and updating best practice documentation.
  • Monitoring and reporting on claims initiatives.
  • Working alongside professionals in our claims team and across our business from Fraud, Data, Product Management, Engineering, Actuarial, Reserving and Sales.
  • Attending supplier and client meetings 
  • Training and mentoring our claims team.
  • Helping to build a claims journey of the future, Influencing system development and building our automation capability.
  • You will obsess about claims data quality and completeness, working with the Data and Product teams responsible for ensuring that data is made accessible for all the necessary internal systems.

What you will need to be successful as a Technical Claims Manager (Motor):

  • Ideally 5+ years motor claims experience in an Insurance company - desirably with an Insurtech or Motor Insurance provider.
  • In-depth understanding of the UK insurance market and the impact that quality data at volume can make on the customer experience.
  • You are a natural leader, holding strong ideas loosely and comfortable navigating shifting priorities.
  • You demonstrate value through building data-driven relationships with third parties.
  • You are commercially minded and enjoy the challenge of adapting to the evolving needs of an ambitious, high-growth business.
  • CII Certificate is desirable however not essential.

Instead, we foster a flexible approach that empowers every Zegon to perform at their best. We ask you to spend at least one day a week in our central London office (next to Liverpool Street) or in our Halifax office. You have the flexibility to choose the day that works best for you and your team. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and also provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards other travel costs. We think it’s a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve the right balance between work and life.
