The Technical Business Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders to analyze their needs and align strategic goals. They have deep knowledge of web development and CMS’s and are able to partner their skills in business analysis, communication, and web technology to be the big picture visionary who sees innovative web solutions through to delivery.
What You Will Do...
- Apply business acumen to uncover web solutions that address clients’ business needs
- Perform fit-gap analysis as needed, mapping “as-is” and “to-be” process flows
- Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements
- Ensure features and functions have been built to agreed upon specification by participating in the quality assurance of developed solutions
- Write and execute functional test scripts, create test plans, and document results
- Author and update internal and external documentation and formally initiate and deliver technical requirements and documentation
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
- Craft requirement documents with technical specifications, functionalities and/or user stories
- Produce detailed design documentation and data mapping
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiative within the Project Delivery team
- Act as a project expert who has an intimate understanding of the service offering
- Act as a client advocate and manage internal communications throughout project life cycle
- Clearly translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a way that is comprehensible to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision
- Conduct interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to Project Managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood
- Work closely with Project Managers and Account Directors to ensure total service delivery excellence in meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality assurance
Requirements
- 3+ years of technical business analysis experience
- Post-secondary education in project management, computer science, business, or equivalent experience
- The following certifications are considered an asset:
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Business Analysis Certificate (ECBA or CPRE)
- ITIL V3 Foundation
- Working knowledge of postman scripts, web sequence diagrams, UML diagrams, and familiarity with Swagger
- Experience developing requirements, user cases and user stories
- Experience implementing Agile project management methodologies
- Experience working within a CMS (Wordpress, Drupal)
- Knowledge of project delivery processes (Discover, Definition, Design, Develop, Deploy)
- Familiarity with Atlassian Suite of products, i.e., Confluence and Jira, with experience managing projects within Jira
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to function in a fast-paced business environment
