This position is Tel-Aviv-based or fully remote within European Time Zone +/-2h.

Team

Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.

Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. With over seven billion downloads worldwide and a portfolio of more than 10 resilient hybrid games generating more than $20m per year, we are the world's largest and most successful hybrid publisher.

Voodoo is creating a small experimentation team with a big mission: find the next best way to entertain the world by taking our best hits to a new level. You will be one of the first members of a team of six and you will participate in every aspect of development, from ideation to testing the casual games in the market.

The Studio will be working on Coffee Pack, one of our most promising games. 

Role

We are looking for a passionate Technical Artist to join our top-notch art and development team. Using your technical expertise and creative skills, you'll be responsible for bridging the gap between art and engineering, ensuring our visuals are both stunning and optimized for performance. You will:

  • Create, optimize, and implement visually stunning visual effects and shaders, ensuring high performance on mobile platforms.
  • Develop and maintain efficient art and animation pipelines, optimizing asset workflows to support smooth team collaboration.
  • Integrate and optimize assets within Unity, delivering seamless gameplay experiences across various mobile devices.
  • Build and maintain tools, scripts, and automation processes to streamline workflows, enabling faster iteration for art and development teams.
  • Contribute actively to cross-discipline discussions, providing feedback and ideas that elevate the game’s quality and align with its overall vision. Collaborate closely with artists, engineers, and designers to achieve a cohesive and polished final product.

Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in the mobile gaming industry in a Technical Art role, including 1-2 years in a LiveOps environment for mobile games.
  • Strong expertise in VFX, shaders, materials, animation pipelines, and Unity optimization, with proven problem-solving skills in these areas.
  • Solid foundation in art fundamentals, including a deep understanding of lighting, color theory, volume, anatomy, and composition.
  • Extensive knowledge of game art and animation pipelines, using industry-standard tools (e.g., Maya, Blender) and integration within Unity.
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization of mobile game assets for maximum efficiency without compromising visual quality.
  • Understanding of the free-to-play gaming market, with a data-driven approach informed by player data and KPIs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical processes to non-technical team members.
