Job Description:
Primarily managing enterprise backup systems in global data centers and business offices. Should focus on Backup Environment (primarily NetBackup) and storage environment (Netapp/Dell EMC products). Must have working knowledge of Linux systems, Windows & VMWare. Working knowledge for the functions of - Capacity Planning, Performance Management, High Availability and Disaster Recovery, Infrastructure security & Maintenance are all required. The candidate will collaboratively work within a high performing team within a globally dispersed organization. Prior working experience in a global role is deserved as well as ability to work and function independently with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities:
• Design and Architect cost effective, integrated engineering solutions focused on supporting global backup and storage environments.
• Backup exposure and working experience with any backup software, features and upgrade versions etc. (experience in NetBackup will be added advantage).
• Providing data backup & recovery support per guidelines outlined in backup policy.
• Ensuring business continuity with instant recovery procedure are followed and backups are run per schedule and retentions are met and backup life cycle policy is followed.
• Storage exposure and working experience with any variety of storage arrays for NetApp or Dell EMC (PowerMax/Unity/Isilon/ECS) or Object storage.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Backup related issues (in event of errors &b backup problems) working with cross functional teams.
• Maintaining documentation and audit trail of backups/restores.
• Maintaining all backup related compliance for audits like SOX/IATF/BCP audits etc and meeting all KPI requirements.
• Excellent oral and written skills and ability to interact with senior management, business customers and external storage vendors
• Ability to adjust, sort and distinguish priorities. Handle multiple tasks and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and commitments in an environment that requires multitasking among multiple concurrent projects while also handling interrupts

Key Technical Skills:
• Expert knowledge of Backup software and hardware experience administering in mission-critical, 7x24 production environments.
• Expert knowledge of NetBackup software, associated hardware and administration experience.
• Good knowledge of any storage – NetApp/Dell PowerMax/Isilon/Unity/ECS administration
• Strong knowledge of backup monitoring and upgrades of both OS and firmware for backups infrastructure.
• Scripting/automation skills have added advantages.
