Tech Lead / Lead Software Engineer (Platform Development)

We seek dynamic individuals with experience as Technical Leads, eager to embrace the challenge of exploring in a pioneer team.

The lead is responsible for implementing improvements in the team processes and further shaping and developing the discipline. Manages the discipline by guiding, coaching and facilitating employees in reaching organisational and departmental objectives. In the first phase of setting up the Platform Development discipline, the development focus will be on User Interface / User Experience components, later the focus will diverge.

Besides the responsibility of being the lead for Platform Development for our Sri Lankan team, you are a member of one of the Scrum team working on expanding and improving the Ultimo software by drawing up and implementing user stories, for example.

The person we seek is capable of:

• Translating user stories and requirements into a technical solution
• Independently developing new technical solutions
• Monitoring and improving the quality of the software by analysing and solving performance issues (bugfixing) and performing code reviews
• Structurally and systematically delivering desired results on the set deadlines
• Drawing up a backlog; assessing user stories and dividing them into tasks and activities
• Actively contributing to knowledge sharing by giving presentations and/or workshops within the team and the organization
• Reviewing plans, designs and realisations from colleagues in the discipline
• Serving as the point of contact of the discipline and ensuring proper communication and information exchange
• Monitoring and developing the quality, knowledge and skill level of the employees in the discipline

Performs personal development and performance management conversations with the employees in the discipline

• University degree or equivalent professional qualifications in a field relevant to the technical and/or functional area of responsibility, preferably Technical Computer Science, additional courses aimed at software architecture, .Net and Javascript.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Broad knowledge in the area of software development;
• Minimum of 8 years experience in web development with .Net and Javascript;
• Although we have our in-house developed framework, knowledge of Angular, ReactJS, Vue or another front-end framework is a big plus;
• Experience with version control and continuous integration;
• Experience with translating user stories into tasks;
• Possesses up-to-date knowledge of technical developments in the software industry;
• Is able to make good technical architecture choices;
• Familiar with the Agile/Scrum method of working.
• Experience with guiding employees in a multidisciplinary team
