Tech Lead / Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

The Lead Engineer Configuration and QA has dual responsibility:

The lead is responsible for implementing improvements in the team processes and further shaping and developing the discipline. Manages the discipline by guiding, coaching and facilitating employees in reaching the set organizational and departmental objectives.

Besides the responsibility of being the lead for the Configuration and QA discipline for our Sri Lankan team, you are a member of a Scrum team and test changes made by colleagues against the acceptance criteria. Is also responsible for expanding, improving and maintaining the Ultimo software by implementing configuration changes.

The person we seek is capable of:

• Noticing and contributing to possible improvements in the functionality
• Drawing up specifications and acceptance criteria to test the change 
• Configuring user interface, reports, etc. 
• Setting up and performing automated and manual tests 
• Reporting test cases and test data  
• Advising on possible improvements 
• Approving implemented changes prior to release/merge 
• Using Ultimo as a development tool 
• Reviewing plans, designs and realizations from colleagues in the discipline
• Serving as the point of contact of the discipline and ensuring proper communication and information exchange
• Monitoring and developing the quality, knowledge and skill level of the employees in the discipline
• Performs personal development and performance management conversations with the employees in the discipline

• University degree or equivalent professional qualifications in a field relevant to the technical and/or functional area of responsibility, preferably Technical Computer Science, Business Information Systems or Business IT & Management
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Familiar with the Agile/Scrum way of working
• Experience with guiding employees in a multidisciplinary team
• Technical knowledge of XML, SQL, etc.
• Experience with developing software
• Experience with test automation software 
• Affinity with business processes (ERP, EAM, …)
• At least 5 years of experience in the profession as a QA engineer, 3 years as lead.
