We are starting up a new line of business focused on “moving up the stack” from our heartland developers and engineers to the next level of decision makers and tech leaders. We aim to create invaluable content for tech leaders and decision makers that enables them to make better decisions faster. Our theory is that case studies are a core component of this, showcasing real-world solutions that provide actionable insights for tech leaders to apply to their own business challenges. The initial focus of this initiative will be businesses implementing Generative AI solutions. 

Tech Content Editor Role 

We are looking for a talented and innovative Content Creator/Editor to join our new start-up team focused on supplying tech industry case studies to tech leaders and decision makers. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in researching and crafting case studies and business retrospectives, working closely with authors to overcome the unique challenges in this area.  

You will need journalistic rigour in carrying out research through interviews and data sifting, integrity and fact checking, and building high-interest and insightful narratives from collected sources. 

Salary: 30K-45K Monthly Gross

Objectives and Responsibilities 

  • Research, identify and acquire appropriate partners for new case studies. 
  • Grow your network of experts through outreach, referrals and Packt connections. 
  • Build customer awareness and insight through user interviews. 
  • Work with case study partners to obtain full portfolio of product documentation and supporting artefacts.  
  • Identify key decision points from the data and interview stakeholders to understand those decisions – the inputs (research, insight, etc.), the decision-making process, the outcome, the learning. 
  • Create a cohesive and engaging narrative from the data arranged around those sequential decisions. Ensure that key learning from each decision can be abstracted to best practices that readers can apply to their own context. 
  • Navigate issues of privacy and confidentiality in presenting internal/sensitive information. 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Identifying and helping to acquire potential case study subjects.  
  • Engaging with tech leaders and product teams to gather comprehensive details about key business decisions. 
  • Crafting engaging narratives that showcase each business journey, emphasizing critical decision points, challenges, solutions, and outcomes. 
  • Analysing case studies to identify underlying principles and best practices.  
  • Translating technical processes and decisions into universally applicable insights. 
  • Working closely with tech reviewers and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and depth.  
  • Coordinating with production team to integrate visual elements that clarify and enhance the data. 
  • Ensuring all content meets high standards for readability, coherence, and impact.  
  • Adapting and collating content artifacts in various formats, from the case study kernel to videos, webinars, software architectures, customer research, etc. 
  • Editing content to engage tech leaders, decision makers and other tech professionals, providing tangible value and actionable takeaways.  
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, user needs and important products. 
     

Role Requirements  

  • Proficient in conducting thorough research, interviewing stakeholders, and synthesizing information. 
  • Excellent communicator able to work effectively with a diverse range of contributors and experts. 
  • Exceptional writer with the ability to weave complex technical concepts into compelling, accessible narratives. 
  • Strong analytical skills to distil complex information into clear insights and practical advice. 
  • User focused and able to adapt content and style for different audiences and formats, with a keen eye for detail and quality. 
  • Solid background in tech, with a grasp of product development processes, methodologies (like Agile, Scrum), and the tech ecosystem.  
  • Base understanding of and interest in generative AI.
