About the role

We're looking for an established people leader who can demonstrate Xero's values and lead the team around them. Key behaviors and attributes would include empathy, ownership, and a high level of emotional intelligence.

You will be looking after a team made up of Salesforce Engineers and Front End Engineers. Whilst people leadership is of course a huge part of the role, we're also looking for someone with strong technical knowledge across Salesforce. You'll own the growth of those around you, as well as software delivery and cross-team collaboration.

Your focus will be on driving engineering initiatives and ensuring the team makes progress towards their goals.

What you'll do:

  • You will be responsible for supporting your direct reports in becoming awesome Xeros, empowering them to deliver high-quality solutions to customers and fostering the growth of a world-class engineering culture.
  • You'll directly contributing to the successful outcomes of the team, by supporting excellent engineering and delivery practices which enable rapid delivery of high quality software engineering.
  • You’ll maintain a working environment in which your team can do their best work predictably and sustainably.
  • You’ll make sure the team has all the information they need and the right feedback loops in place to discover and deliver valuable, usable, and buildable outcomes.

What you'll bring with you:

  • Previous experience a similar role; leading a team of software engineers or technical specialists, in an Agile (or similar) environment with software delivery responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce, ideally from an engineering perspective earlier in your career. If you've not been hands-on in a while, that's OK! Keeping up to date with the latest Salesforce trends is great too.
  • A true passion and proven track record of mentoring and growing those around you.

Why Xero?
Offering very generous paid leave to use however you’d like (plus statutory holidays!), dedicated paid leave to care for your physical and mental wellbeing as well as an Employee Assistance Program to access mental health care for you and your family, free medical insurance, wellbeing and sports programmes, employee resource groups, 26 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers, an Employee Share Plan, beautiful offices, flexible working, career development, and many other benefits that reflect our human value, you’ll do the best work of your life at Xero.
