About the team and position

We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Team Lead to oversee our Treasury Operations Cashiering team. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong ability to drive performance, foster collaboration, and lead continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in both tactical and strategic aspects of the role, providing actionable insights and mentorship to the team. Lead the development of team members by identifying learning opportunities and ensuring knowledge transfer. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, have a strategic mindset and the ability to inspire their team to meet and exceed business objectives in a fast-paced environment.

 

 What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and mentoring to promote an environment that fosters and ensures all team members meet or exceed all Carvana standards + performance metrics.
  • Managing the Cashiering function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming payments from checks and wires—this is the first and foundational step in Treasury Operations. The Cashiering team plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring funds are applied correctly, and supporting downstream processes.
  • Driving accuracy and efficiency in the Cashiering process—this team is key to our success by ensuring funds are properly allocated, preventing misapplied payments, and reducing reconciliation issues that could impact customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Accounting, Loan Operations, and Customer Experience to address payment discrepancies, process improvements, and seamless fund reconciliation.
  • Implement new processes and revamp old processes to optimize efficiencies. 
  • Maintain and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports of quality metrics and respective targets and goals. 
  • Addressing and effectively managing complex and sensitive customer-facing issues. 
  • Proactively communicating with leadership and stakeholders regarding business performance, the adverse impact of decisions on the customers, and potential risks to the business.  
  • Being a continuous positive force within the office, creating strong morale and spirit throughout the team. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What you should have/know

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to guide teams through complex challenges  and reconcile multiple sources of information with accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive process improvements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in an ever changing environment
  • Experience working with auto titles, loans, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, necessary to to interact with direct reports, leadership, and external and internal customers and agencies. 
  • Computer literacy and data entry accuracy - strong excel proficiency preferred
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Willingness to take on new projects, even if that means learning something new
